Commsave, the men’s first team training kit partner and one of the clubs principal partners, first launched its ‘Commsave Supports’ grants scheme in partnership with the club last year.
This month fans chose to support Castle Hill United Reformed Church food bank, which support local families in need.
Dominic Masterson, CEO of Commsave, explained: “Our Commsave Supports pot of funding is earmarked for local causes and it’s up to Cobblers fans to choose where it is spent. Last year fans voted for Cynthia Spencer Hospice and this month they have voted for a food bank close to the stadium. Thank you to everyone who has nominated a cause they care about. We will be donating another £500 in April so please keep an eye on our web page and have your say.”
Commsave is a not-for-profit financial co-operative which helps people regularly save, improves access to responsible credit and provides a whole range of benefits including access to financial education and money management tools.
James Corrigan, Commercial Director for Northampton Town Football Club, added: It’s great to be working alongside a partner with the same values as ourselves, when it comes to supporting the wider community. It’s fantastic to give our fans the opportunity to get involved and nominate a cause they really care about.”
Commsave is one of the largest credit unions in the UK, with over 35,000 members and growing. The organisation is not-for-profit, owned exclusively by its members – not private shareholders, unlike many high street banks. Profits are retained within the business, shared with members in the form of annual dividends, invested in its staff and shared with local communities. Commsave’s Vision: “We want to see a world where everyone is financially included, with a safe method of saving, with access to responsible credit, with financial skills to manage their money wisely, and achieve long-term wellbeing.”
